This is a step by step tutorial on how to hotswap and mod an XBOX. This also works on an XBOX with a messed HDD to just replace it with a modded C drive. Be sure to unplug your XBOX when unhooking the DVD drive and unplug your PC when unhooking the HDD.
If Your HDD is messed and booting an error screen you have 2 options for the unlock procedure- Error 12 like in the video or hotswap at the flubber screen.
If your HDD is fine and are doing this just to mod your XBOX you have 5 options to unlock the drive-Error 12, flubber screen, while playing a game or DVD, copy a song to the HDD and swap while playing it.
I also recommend touching something grounded like the metal of your PC case before unhooking the XBOX HDD and plugging it into the PC. This will help eliminate any risk of static discharge.
