Hi xbox-hq
After a few coffee's and a little reading I'm ready to softmod.
All game saves are now deleted and backed-up on pc
Have original non live mechassault in hand.
I have sid file for mech installed to xbox hdd and iso of aid2 ready to roll.
Have just one question before the big leap, if i screw up here the kids will never forgive me.
I have a retail hdd the only thing updated on this xbox is a power cord.
First thing backup msdash.
next install softmod+msdash to C: or E:
I would like to use C:
I then need to install another dashboard from the softmod section
Is it possible to install avalaunch to c: from the softmod dashboards or is evox my only option as i would like to use avalaunch.
Also do I really need any emulators or can I install them at a later date if need be? _________________ xbox v1.2

might wanna burn AID to a disk. after your softmod is done you can use AID to install Avalaunch.

Hi lodgey,
Ive gone to alot of trouble and written a SOFTMOD INSTALL GUIDE for SID3.. Check it out here:
im sure that will help you through to the end..
Basically you can install DASHBOARDs for your softmodded xbox using the AID2 just like funkydope mentioned..
OK so i need to go with the flow and install what dashboards are available in the softmod section first up?
Is this option available to c: and e:
I then reinstall the dashboards I want from the aid2 disc at a later date?
Have had a few coffee's reading your guide forahobby and I'm not quite sure about where to install what dashboard as I would like to use C:.
I guess you just boot to E: if that's where the dash is installed.
Just don't want to screw up. _________________ xbox v1.2

i suggest u use SID 2.0 sence it has all u need for the mod to work no burning of iso cds or anything im 3 weeks old at it and its worked great on 3 xboxs so far it has 2 dashs to pick from and dvd to xbox program and the dvd dongle its all ya need for a newb at it 3.0 is more of a solo installer and more complicated to use i was gonna swicth but ive heard people have alot of problems with it sence there new at it with 2.0 all ya need to do is get the file to the mem card and then sit back and create the backups and install dashboards from the controller and ur chair xD

Basically if you install your dash to C, you must boot C (vise versa for E).
Basically the tutorial forahobby wrote breaks it down very well, and probably as best as I could break it down myself.
