Hello All,
I have been getting error 7 lately when booting my Xbox (While the HD making clicking noice). It works sometimes, but most the time it doesn't start at all (No MS Dashboard). I have it working now, and I am in the process of softmoding it using Mechassault linux. I need to replace the HD very soon with a PC HD. Is it possible? Any help on how to do this? From what I can tell this tutorial looks like it should be enough to do what you wish to do. Sadly I haven't had the chance to save enough money for a larger hard drive yet, so I haven't had the chance to buy a new hard drive. From what I have read all over this seems to be a very good tutorial. _________________

I got to dead end last night trying to sofmod my Xbox with MechAssulat Linux game save. I was able to transfer the 3 saves to the Xbox HD (Emergency Linux, Restore Dashboard and Install Linux), then I rented the MechAssault game to load the saves, but I keep getting the "unable to load <Install Linux>. Press A to continue." when I try to load the save from the compaign menu. Any help is appreciated. Thanks allot.

I would first try and install the save games in the exploit section in our downloads, if it does the same thing, then it sounds like you didn't get an original copy of the game, and it was probably a rerelease. _________________

Finally I got the older MA game and was able to load the emergency Linux and the install (I had to downgrade my MS dashboard). Anyways, Now I am ready to install the new HD (I got the Key and password from the existing HD).
velayo, is it possible to e-mail me your easy instructions for installing a new HD?
