K I downloaded hdd_driver.zip and unziped it. I tried running it but I got and error saying that MFC42D.dll is not located it. So I Download it. THen it tells me that I am missing file msvcrtd.dll. So i download it too... Now it tells me that "Ordinal 5078 could not be located in the dynamic link libary MFC42D.dll"

k, your trying to upgrade the harddrive in your xbox, is it already modded? if so how? chip, or softmod? do you have access to a chipped Xbox, or will you be using your pc to prepare the harddrive? are you following a tutorial? if so from where? never heard of needing any drivers before. you might want to check the tutorial section here

My First post was completely off. K... I'll make it alittle better.... K..
I New at this... I was search on the web and came across a site on how to mod a xbox with out a mod chip...K... On one of the steps it said to run Hdd Driver... So I ran it... It said that 2 files were missing mfc42d.dll and msvcrtd.dll. So I went to google and found a site that downloads .dll files. After I downloaded them I tried to run the program again and I got this "Ordinal 5078 was not found in the dynamic link libary". What does this mean???

well glad you foudn this site, cuz i don't know WHAT that tutorial was using
first thing you are going to want to do is softmod your current Xbox with its current harddrive. the reason for doing this to to get the eeprom and backups of your Xbox to use on the new harddrive. the best way to do this is going to use the Softmod Installer Deluxe (SID) heres a tutorial that someone wrote HERE there are more tutorials on how to softmod aswell for more reading.
once your xbox is softmodded you can connect to it via ftp and get the eeprom and what-not. and follow this tutorial HERE to upgrade to the bigger harddrive.
