I'm sure this is probably covered somewhere else on the site, but I'm feelin lazy (hey, that's why I pay for VIP, isn't it?
I've never had an issue w/this before. I just upgraded XBMC on my xbox and now (appearently) it's required to use SMB to stream videos off my PC. I've never used SMB for anything, and I'm confused with it. Reading a couple of tutorials, I've gathered that I need to set the IP to go to my PC and the username/pass in the same section in the XBMC.xml. I've tried using my PC IP and xbox/xbox, but XBMC justs keep asking me for the user/pass over and over again.
Does anyone know how to properly configure this? Why the hell do I even need SMB anyway?

Found a thread on afterdawn.com where others were having the same problem (xbmc would just keep asking for the login/pass over and over again). Not really sure why this worked but it did -
I had to unshare all my shared folders on my PC, change my workgroup name, then re-share everything. Worked like a charm.
Go figure...
