Also, a quick trick I use with desoldering braid, Tin it....now I don't mean the whole THING!
((
I mean put the size of a pin head (solder) on the desoldering braid, to allow for faster heat transfer, and it should just suck up. Sometimes the desoldering braid won't carry the heat like it should and it won't melt the solder, but your board ;p _________________ XBOX v1.6

Ok thanks for all that, I'll check the d0 again, but it just solders to the LPC right? Is there a possibility that when I attempted installing the X3 on the v1.0 that I might have messed it up? On a positive note, at least I have a spare xbox for parts now, lol. It doesn't frag or anything, just loads up M$ dash. Should I try resoldering the LPC rebuild again? Oh and 1 more question, do I have to scrape the clear coat off in order to get the solder to stick on the v1.6, I read somewhere that it was recommended to insure the solder sticks properly?
As for the pins, the pins not installed are 4,6, and 16. Does the 9 pin get soldered to the LPC rebuild. It doesnt say to solder it but in the picture on the tutorial I used it looks like it's been soldered. I used the tutorial for installing on a 1.6 with the updated pictures. I think it was written by

Yea, tehsoul's is right, I used his for the rebuild
Scratch the clear coat off litely. And refer to the regular 1.6 tutorial on the main page to find out what pins are needed to be removed. Its the same tutorials except without wires, the rebuild board obviously takes the place.
If you have trouble sticking the D0 use some soldering flux, it heats up nicely with the iron and melts the solder like butter. Scrape ALL the points,
Also, try to get it as flush as possible. It can be a pain in the ass after the pinheader was soldered down, but, use some braid, extract some more solder, and then add more to the whole rebuild solder pad. I love the rebuild board, the trick is to just let the solder fall like water down to the pad it sits on. and use electrical tape to keep it secure. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Ok when as soon as I get off work I'm gonna try to do the rebuild board again. I didn't scrape the board on my v1.6, it seemed to not have any clear coat on the solder points, but i could be wrong. I'm beginning to get really frustrated with this dang thing. It seems like I should be a pro as many times as I've had to re-do it, lol. Back to an earlier question, You don't think I could have messed up the X3 itself do you? _________________ V1.6

Theres a chance for everything. Sorry to say.
But I dont know if you did. So don't get down. Just make sure you plug everything in properly also. Some people rush and might burn out the power pcb by pluggin it wrong.
Yea, I had to redo my 1st box like 4 times. But Finally got it. The bastard.
The X3 IS NOT an easy chip man, don't get your self down. It uses 2 more pins that the others don't make use of. So its definitely technical. _________________ XBOX v1.6

ok I actually have a blue X3 logo now. Power button is orange. Scrren does absolutely nothing. Nothing loads or shows up at all. M$ loads with a long press of power button, but nothing shows up with the short press. Any ideas?? _________________ V1.6
