For what it's worth I finally had the chance to try it on anoter computer with Windows XP SP2. Exactly the same problem.. The temp\Files\Skins\xbmc-mc360.zip extracts indefinetly until you kill the updater and are left with a MASSIVE file.
I know the original ISO it is extracting should be OK because I have the original aid410.part*.rar files which all verify and I've re-extracted it a few times just to be sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DJB i installed vista and the AID updater and all works fine for me on it.
And michald you might want to redownload it if you havent tryed that.
If you get 4.11 on a bittorent i think you can weed out all the files and just get the addon update tool.

Thanks for going to all that effort.
Is it really possible that the updater exe is corrupted in such a way that it works to the point of incorrectly extracting a specific file on the ISO?
Any chance you could perhaps prove me the checksums for the updater and unrar.dll as well as the original 4.10compleet iso? That way I should be able to establish whether I have valid files.
Thanks in advance.

Im lost man what are you asking for?
You want me to send you the iso that wold take a month.lol?
And follow the instructions for creating a checksum file (it's just text you could paste here).
ie. Open an MS-DOS window and go to the directory of the files you want to create an .md5 file for. When you are in that directory, type:
md5sum *.* > [filename].md5
I can then use that information to see if I have the same files as you have. This would help in tracking down what the problem is.

For what it's worth here is what I got when I did it (albeit under Mac OS X but the md5sums should be the same).
Code:
6d6acb6d3a5050d24f80d60bd4935fa7 Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v4.10compleet.iso
77285451bfefbeeb1282235d9d3511b3 AID ISO Updater.exe
5a495e481bf7f5feafc8238dff493af5 unrar.dll

The MD5 for the ISO Updater and Unrar.dll are fine, however the MD5 for the ISO is C8E9A8C2083EB4DF1FC58C0F2758D368

Wow.
Not sure how you got that but I'm starting to fell almost as if I'm torturing you :/
You should have those 3 AID files as well as md5sum.exe (if that's what you're using) in the same directory and type md5sum *.* at a command prompt while in that directory. You can just cut and paste the output.

I have a MD5 checker plugin for XP which allows me to check the MD5 / SFV / SHA1 using right-click then properties on the file, so I didn't need to use that other program.
Are you sure you haven't done anything to the ISO, becuase that would change the MD5 obviously.

No, nothing at all. In fact I've re-extracted it from the originals RAR's at least 5 times. I'm starting to suspect that maybe these AREN'T the original RAR's and the ISO compressed within is already corrupted.
It would really help to have an MD5 of at least the 4.10compleet ISO to confirm this theory before I try to download the entire thing again.
