Hey, this might not be the place for it, but i don't know where else to ask.
Anyway.
I stupidly unlocked my xbox hdd with configmagic from aid 4.01 - 4.02.
Now whenever i put my xbox on i get a 05 error.
My xbox is softmodded.
I have got a back-up of the ms dash & eeprom on the hdd.
But i can't access it as the xbox wont boot up.
So. is there a way to lock the hdd again?

It;s not the right place. But i'll help you the best i can.
Did you happen to get a backup of your eeprom on your PC before you did this? If so, your in luck, if not, you will either need a modchip, or to build an eeprom reader. Your best bet is a chip tho, cause you HAVE TO HAVE taht eeprom(the locking key from your xbox motherboard)to lock the hard drive back with the mobo.
I hooked up my xbox hdd to my pc with xboxhdm & went into xbrowser and i can see my eeprom.bin.
Is there no way of getting it off there?

I do have the 4.0, and just downloaded the 4.02 update pack. Do I still need the 4.01 update pack, or can I just update the 4.0 with the 4.02 package?

I would recommend not even thinking aobut 4.0, as the 4.01 ISO is the working one. Updating 4.02 over 4.0 "MAY" work because it updates the main script, but if you try and use any softmod featuers it probably won't work 100%

Now I read the 4.01 file description CORRECTLY. It is a COMPLETE ISO release. I first thought it was just an update package for 4.0 !!!
Ok, got the 4.01 release now and will update to 4.02. Softmodding will begin in a few minutes

Yesterday i softmodded my Xbox. Everything went fine. The only strange thing is, the XORED trainer doesn't work. If i run XORED, the initial screen is loaded and then the XBOX freezes.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

Get 4.02 update.. it fixed the bad trainer that was causing that issue. If you dont want to go that route look in posts and there is a fix on which trainers to remove.

I HAVE 4.02! That's why I was wondering about the freeze.
Remove the trainers it states and it will fix freeze up.

HI ALL
I've noted that there was a change to shoutcast and version 4.0 cannot connect to the shoutcast server. I saw am update to xbmc itself (svn release) that fixed this.
Does version 4.2 connect to shoutcast or is there a way to upgrade the current version within AID ?
