It didnt surprise me that unleashx didnt work because xbmc didnt. That means that the ICS PHY chip is gone, the xbox is still good, you just cant network, ftp to it or anything, Do you want this repaired? I can bring another mod over and see if he is able to replace the chip. _________________

if you are on windows xp , go to start then run, type in cmd and hit enter. type in ipconfig and hit enter , write down your ip address and subnet addresses, then load a ftp program such as craxtion or flash fxp, go into your xbox and in the network settings manually set the ip and subnet address, if your computer has a ip address like 192.168.0 then set the xbox at 192.168.1 and make the subnet address the same, then in craxtion or flash fxp just enter the xbox ip information, hope this helps later jimd1122

Thanks for the help, but i know how to ftp already. If you've been reading the posts, you'd know that my problem isn't not knowing how to ftp but something totally different.
thanx anyways.

have you tried testing a connection to your xbox from the pc using the windows command prompt (DOS)??
Sorry ive come in so late on this topic tooo.. Hope im reading things right.
I would do this to test your xbox is working and receiving packets from your pc.
1. Click Start Menu
2. Choose Run
3. type 'cmd' and press enter (type 'command' on older systems)
4. now type 'ping 192.168.0.1' or whatever your xbox ip address is
5. Packets of data will no be sent from your pc and to your xbox ip address.. If it is working correctly you should get a reply immediately..
If you do not get a reply then your xbox is not configured with the correct ip address range for your network or your nic card in the xbox is stuffed.. It could be so many things..
I've tried the cmd thing but i keep getting an error message saying:
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem
path to the program that you are trying to start or install
C:\Winnt\System32\config.nt The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
Then it just shuts down
I know how to fix this (somewhat) but thats gonna take some time to do. As for my ip address, it's not that. I've even changed the ip to my working xbox's ip and that didn't work either.
I am starting to believe that it is my nic card though.

Your 16-Bit error is probably because you downloaded SP2. I could be wrong. But try and type "command" instead. To fix this problem, uninstall SP2, then install it using a disc (it can be ordered and shipped for free from the M$ website.)
seems you have a bad year xbox, but those chips aren't TOO hard to replace, but I hope you're extremely handy with a soldering gun. I also think that member said he sells those chips, if not, I'll desolder (or try) one from my junk xbox mobo and send it out to ya. If you don't feel you can handle it, send me your board, and we'll see what's going on.
P.S. if you have one, check your chip with a multimeter, make sure everything's flowing correctly, could save ya a lot of problems in the future. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
hey.. if it is something internal, me or angelos would beable to get you taken care of. If you need it fixed NOW, i would go with angelos, im getting a lot of new people in, and that is a painstaking and time consuming repair. (there are 40 or so small pins to be unsoldered and resoldered.)
let one of us know (that is if you dont want to do it yourself)

Problem is in PC not xbox........Dracul is right. Possibly you have messed up the config file.........cant remember what its called . config.exe? Any way the program your ftping with disagrees with that file.....typical XP problem. Try connecting to another xbox to verify PC is the problem.
