so for say right now i have 500 roms for snes and i get this newer aid 3 and it has an update to snes and i click install that means it will wipe out games?
im not saying for the new feture of uninstall im saying to install it will overwrite it and cause of lost of games in the end result.. so is their a way to save games or you would put the games everytime you install a new emu?
When you install the emu over the top of the other one, it will not erase your roms. All it will do is overwire the current emu with the newer one.

so this means that updating just this new upcoming will have all of the last update + the new skins?
Yes, the new skinpacks have the newer skins plus the older ones.

i know the iso updater is their but my question is i want to get those new skins would i need to download the skins pak or how do i get those new ones ?
The new skinpacks will be part of the v3.01 update I'll be uploading. The package will contain 5 files:
* v3.01 Update
* BIOS Addon Pack Update (needed for the v3.01 system)
* DHCP Addon Pack Update (needed for the v3.01 system)
* UnleashX Skinpack
* XBMC Skinpack
Just integrate these into the original v3.0 ISO and it'll all be fine.

You'll need to download the update pack when it's released

Thanks for showing your support for AID3, and also welcome to Xbox-Hq
As you know there's still some testing needed for the SE skin, but I'm sure the testers (which I am one of them if you didnt realise hehe) are doing the best they can to find any bugs that may be lurking.
The LE 2.0 skin had some really bad problems a couple of days ago, I still have to test the newer version out today. Hopefully it's a lot more closer to being 100%, if it's not already with this latest release of it.

and i am testing all the skins currently for bugs or other probs.
We hope to have the SE skin ready for your 3.01 release and AMaNO is working very hard on it when he gets time.
Will keep you updated as things progress, for now, peace and may the force be with you.

There should be a config file for each Emu that you can configure to point the rom folder to wherever you choose. See i have a folder f/roms/ that has all my roms, that way if I delete a particular emulator it does not effect my Roms.
Sorry this was answered several posts before mine _________________ xbox v1.0

DJB, I noticed the the version of xbmc that is on 3.0 has two lauchbrowsers but neither one of them seem to load videos. Im not sure if its some setting in the config or what but the launchbrowser main window load but when you choose a video it doesnt stream.
Im looking forwared to the xbmc update included on the update your compliling in hopes that it will fix the launchbrowser issue. _________________ xbox v1.0

It would be too complicated for noobs that would be usedt to just dumping the roms in the emulator folder that they use. It would be a lot easier just to overwite the emu with a newer version rather than deleting it.

That sounds like it would be more of an issue with the browser and not XBMC, since I havent really tested that out I can't say for sure. The latest version of XBMC will be included with v3.01 (as well as an updated script pack) so hopefully this can sort out the issues.

It would be a lot easier just to overwite the emu with a newer version rather than deleting it. Plus, this would mean that I'd basically have to re-code the whole emulators section for the installer, which would take a hell of a lot of time to do.

it turns out that I didnt think clearly. The aid iso that i used was already patched with the addon for xbmc scripts. So the version of xbmc on aid 3.0 has no problem, The issue I had was when I installed the xbmc scripts addon it added a duplicate lauchbrowser - probably causing my issue.
I open mouth - insert foot.
Good work - if you want a beta tester at all pm me - i have time and love the scene. _________________ xbox v1.0

it shouldn't have added a duplicate if you just embedded the xbmc scripts into the ISO, as the scripts are in a .zip file so only one whole file is replaced. I thought there was some duplicates possibly, but this new script pack is a lot more newer and cleaner (taken from the 2006-04-01 PIMPED build, same release that is currently in AID 3.01).
Thanks for offering to be a beta tester, but honestly at this current time with AID 3 there's no real testing that needs to be done, because as of now it's only update packs that need to come out, and I'm being extremely careful whilst making them to ensure no bugs.
I have a small number of people that I call on every now and then for testing, but it's not going to be often that I'll call on them now, because as of AID 3.01, there shouldn't be any major scripting changes in the installer (which is the main thing I get tested). If there's problems with apps etc, I can honestly say it's not from my doing, as all I do is zip it up and compile it into the installer disc. For example, the problem you had with that XBMC script I was say would be due to that actual script, not XBMC, not my installer.
I do appreciate it when people do tell me if something goes wrong (especially if it's an addon), because I can always bring out a new update pack which excludes or fixes the problem. I just need the people finding the problem to be as specific as possible with the app / plugin in questionn, and like you did earlier (which I commend you on) you give an example of what has actually gone wrong.
Enough for this post, I could go on forever lol.
AID 3.01 UPDATE PACK TO BE RELEASED HOPEFULLY BEFORE 10TH APRIL
