Has anyone tried to install other versions of 32bit Linux Distro's ? I'm going to attempt a Mint install with a old OEM drive i have to toss about.
I'd like to install a 64bit version but i dout it would ever compute it lol. XD
Also what are the pro's and cons of owning a linux install on the orignal xbox?
Are they useful other just happnening to be a linux install on a ogxbox? Cause i'm sure it has it place of usefulness somewhere amoung the community.

You cant use x64 distros the XBOX CPU was x86. Also make sure to use an older XBOX the video driver doesnt work so well on 1.6/1.6b. Far as I know DSL was the only one the kernel was updated to work with 1.6. Just plain jane linux wont run on the XBOX but there is an XBOX Mint in the collection below and there is also updated kernels so you can make your own distro.
As for use, really not much. Linux loads into memory so precious little of that 64MB is left to actually do anything. And any emulators that would run on one of these old Linux builds are vastly inferior to the ones made for XBOX. You will also need to wire in a USB port or make a controller port to USB port adapter so that you can hook up a keyboard and mouse (wireless Logitech sets work good in Linux and UnleashX)
