Hi,
Have now managed to FTP a backup of my eeprom to the PC.
Tried to use smart FTP with no success, in the end used internet explorer (about the only thing it has been good for....I use firefox as a browser, far superior to the m$ browser.)and the guide on here. Basically use this as the address - "ftp://xbox:xbox@ ip address of the xbox console".
then copy the eeprom backup across. I think it was on the xbox's 'C' drive in the folder 'backup'- 'eeprom.bin'
shall keep this safe....

Hi,

good stuff and smart move..
You always need a backup of your important xbox data such as your hdd password and eeprom info..

Make sure you keep it safe buddy! Smile

You could also have used FLASHFXP which is recommended for connecting to your xbox.. You just have to remember to add the port number.. which is port 21 on the xbox..

thanks for sharing and enjoy HQ

Also keep two things in mind.

1, The newer versions of XBMC allow you to collect system information by depressing the right thumbstick and selecting the "System Info" icon. Among other details, it provides you with the specific info on where your XBOX was built (for example, mine is a 1.0 from Mexico, which rhymes), as well as your XBOX HDD alphanumeric key and your XBOX Live key.

And 2, If you compiled a new HDD or remade your stock HDD with XBOXHDM, you should be able to use the password "TEAMASSEMBLY" to unlock it. Otherwise, try the alphanumeric HDD key.

On a side note, if anyone can tell me where to find a HECHO EN MEXICO sticker that'll fit on an XBOX, please let me know where to go to find it. Maybe a sticker of Bender from Futurama with HECHO EN MEXICO written on it will also suffice, since that's the reference I'm going for. Thanks.

in the backup dir ,

if evox is installed as main dash (C) then you will find a directory called BACKUP.

could be on E also

or if you installed evox as an app you will find the backup dir in the evox dir.

cheers

pirrup
