Hello everyone!...I could really use your help...I am trying to copy games to my xbox...i saw kevin rose on techtv saying that you can mod your xbox without installing a mod chip...
Things I want to get accomplished
1.Install EvolutionX to my Xbox
2.Copy games to my Xbox hard drive
3.Copy games to CD or DVD(I don't know which one works)
4.Download games from website(file sharing)
Any help would be appreciated..I hope I'm not asking for much

Hey dude,
first thing is despite numerous ways there are to mod without a mod the best way is by far to have a modchip in your xbox. With it you have can do a lot more than any other way and you can use xbox live by just flicking it off. However there are a few ways to mod without a mod
1. Flash the TSOP of the xbox, making the onboard BIOS chip flashable and able to boot other BIOS. This requires semi good soldering skills or a matrix mod so it's the best way.
2. You can use exploits, usually the Pheonix loader used in conjuction with Mech Assault or 007 to overrun the buffer. You need the mexa x key to tranfer save files to your xbox
3. Font's Hack, this is a popular 1 allowing booting using modifed xbox font's however you need to get the files on the HD, so either another modded xbox needed or the HD drivers for reading FATX on the PC.
Still far advisable to use a modchip, not too expensive and very good.

hit it right on the head the easiest way and best way is to just get a
chip and bigger Hd its by far alot easier.
If you need help there are alot of people here that can help you with the install of a chip.

hey guys thanks for the tip...i will be needing assistance installing a mod chip but i dont want to have to solder it into my xbox...which is the best solderless mod chip out there?....or any one that will work...also i need to upgrade my hard drive...don't have a clue how to do either...hopefully i can get away without soldering anything...or can i buy a cheap xbox that's already modded?..Finally would i need to install any programs after the chip and hard drive has been installed?
I just want to say I can tell this is by far the best xbox help forum on the net...I've been to other sites and never got a response..Thanks again for you help
