It might have been asked before but,
Do I have to install a bios on my chip before I can use the auto installer or will it do it for me? _________________ [/b]XBOX v1.? (4 or 5)[/b]:

YES, you do have to have a HACKED BIOS on your modchip before it will boot slayers auto-installer or XBOX-HQ AUTO-INSTALLER v1.1
Basically, all the bios does is allows unsigned code (homebrew games, apps etc) to boot.. When you buy a modchip it is normally shipped with the CROMWELL BIOS which is a LEGAL bios that allows your xbox to only boot LINUX and nothing else..

Hey forahobby, hows it goin???
Once you have your bios loaded, can an autoinstaller update that bios?
I have read some info on the Slayers 2.5 and it says that there is an option of handling or not handling the bios. Am I reading bunk? It's funny that this topic came up because Asmunch and I were wondering DJB's autoinstaller had any of this capability.
I know that certain chips can't be flashed via CD, so I probably should have clarified that too, but some like mine can. I am so itching to try out an autoinstaller to see what it's like, I would love to be able to ugrade my bios that easily.

hi realmccloy,
to answer your question..
THe XBOX-HQ AUTOINSTALLER comes with the latest bioses already on the DVD-ROM.. So, YES, you can flash any modchip from the evox dashboard..
All you have to do is have your bioses on your DVD-ROM or XBOX HARDDRIVE. When you choose FLASH from the auto-installer menu it will look for all the bioses you have on the DVD/HDD.. It will then display them all..
All you have to do is have your modchip ready to accept the bios (flip the switches ready to write) AND press the flash button.. In 5 seconds your modchip is flashed and you must reboot your xbox..
Thats it.. Basically FLASHING is FLASHING.. Even MEDIAXMENU does flashing of your bios.. It seems to be a standard thing in all apps..
