If you bought it in 03 it won't be a 1.6, they are just out. The only noticable differences are that the LPC port now has all the holes where there used to be one missing and the video encoder chip is now an xcalibur one. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

Yes, you wouldn't have picked up a 1.6 in 2003...
If you are still suspicious though, you could always open it up and see what chip it has.
Asmunch posted some pics on this site, let me go get the link and I'll update this post with the URL so you can see what the 1.6 chip will look like.
BTW, is it me or is this site moving expectionally S L O W today...

Yes it is moving very very slow. It's normally slow with their fading effects but this is something else. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

Yeah, I was talking to one of the other admins today and he thought the same thing. There were 118 users online, but I have seen it higher than that. I wouldn't think that would slow down the server that much. But, I guess there are other circumstances that could bog down the server too. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Here are 3 main things that can slow the site down:
Amount of members surfing pages - ofcourse if there's over 100 people surfing the site at the same time, the response time may be a bit slower due to load on the server
People downloading from the site - Overall this is probably the biggest killer because unlike small / quick MySQL reading/writing like the site uses, downloads usually lock at a certain speed and drain bandwidth.
The Internet - The quickness in recieving a page on the internet also can be determined by the Trace Route between the site's server and your PC. To test this, open up a command prompt and type in: tracert www.xbox-hq.com
Hopefully this little post might help clear up some of the questions...
