Won't connect to xbox live because the power source was broken and I changed it on my owne. An error log displays the following:
---Cannot connect to x box live because hardwar/software was modified---
Can somebody help?

Mircosoft has tried to make it so any moddified xbox cannot access xbox live. Now they intended on thes moddified xbox's being the ones with mod chips, bigger hdd's things like that. But getting stuck in the cross fire is people such as yourself were your xbox broke and you fixed it, now microsoft sees it as moddified.
I dont know how to exactly fix it, but my guess is that you power supply you got was from a different veresion of xbox (there are 7 versions known 1.0 to 1.6). Chances are that the power supply from one version is different then another version. My adivce is to search the internet somemore and try to find someone with the same expereince, hopefully someone else on xbox-hq will see this post who has had the same experience and be able to better help you. Well in fact it was mod with a chip but it didn't do that before, I use to play all the time, but until power source was broken and replace I have been unable to

Chances are it was from another version of xbox, but I'm not sure if those were different or if you just need to edit a file.

Wow, you get banned because of a power source? Man, I think MS deserves a phone call on that one. Do you think that you possibly logged on Live with your mod chip enabled? I have a 120Gig HD and have been on Live a plethora of times with no issues. And, personallyI would like to know how the hell can they even tell if the power source came from a different machine?
I have a feeling that your modchip was on. Maybe your switch isn't working, if you have one that is. Let us know what happens. I pay for my Live service by the year. To realmacoy:
While I was browsing the internet for a solution I found a web page (unofficial off course) that explained that MS sent over the internet a patch that autoconnects you to Xbox live everytime you turn on the system (that includs whenever you are using a chip) therfore it turns out that you are banned and you don't realize it until you try Xbox live again.... As far as this article explaind it had nothing to do with the power sorce and everything with MS entrapment.....
****HINT: UNPLUG ANY NETWORK CABLES BEFORE TURNING ON THE MOD CHIP.*****

I will look into that too. I just tried and was still able to connect to live with no issues, but will keep an eye out. I don't know how the machine could connect to live without anyone knowing though. You usually get a screen or something that asks you to connect through a certain account or a new account, correct?
How does it know what account to connect to. The whole time I have been on Live, which as been since day one I have always had to select an account to launch.

The thing is that it doesn't literally connect to the server but it does a chkup that where they discover the mod chip.
Anyways it seems to be a solution for it. Apparently you just have to acquire a unique unbanned EPROM file those are for sale in the web and I'm on my way to discover if it really solves the issue.

Yes, what you will need to do to get ur machine able to be on LIVE again is to change the eeprom and get a new LIVE gamertag.
Or, you can just cut your losses with this machine and see if Xbox Connect works for you.
Have you heard much about Xbox Connect? If not, go to the top menu on this page: Roll mouse over Content then click on xbox connect.
You can game with another person for free. However, I think if you want to game with more than one other person you will need the upgraded software that costs a little ching. I haven't messed with connect in a long time and am unsure if that is still the way it goes. But, at least for free you can game with someone. Basically, it fools your xbox into thinking it's at a LAN Party..HA.
