Hi Guys

As a Newbie ( Confused ) I need your help:

I've installed the latest XBMC. Everything works fine - but - till now I wasn't able to copy audio cds onto HD and then configure songs into a playlist.
When I put a CD into the tray, XB recognizes the Album and track titels, but the "record" command ist still greyed out. Did I miss anything here? Embarassed

X2, 4983
160 GB HD

Thanks for your help

Matt

I haven't played around too much with my XBMC, but here is a suggestion that might work. You can always rip the CD on your PC and FTP the music to your xbox. I haven't tried recording from a disk straight to the xbox, not even when it was stock. I'll give it a try and see if I get same end result.

In the interim, there are some decent manuals for XBMC around. Let me know if you cant locate.

hey codebuster,

I have never tried personally because i normally convert my audio cd's to high quality 192kb mp3's for use in my xbox.. You could though however still copy them to the xbox hard drive using the STANDARD RETAIL DASHBOARD if this is what your talking about..

If you copy them using the Retail M$ Dashboard you can choose to play the tracks in any game that you like.. But with the mp3 files that im using you can only listen to them through XMC/XMBP.

l8r guys

... guys for your quick help.

In the meantime I found "some decent XBMC manuals" (RTFM Idea ), I am ripping my mp3s with Creative Media Organizer and it works Surprised .

The only thing that I didn't figure out yet, ist how to arrange and stor playlists (format?), but I am sure I will disvover that secret through more research (and trial and error).

Thaks again - this place and YOU guys rock! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

hey codebuster,

Ok.. With playlists.. Im sure i just used a normal windows media player playlist.. You will find that most generic playlists should work fine..

I wish i had a example for but i just formatted my machine.. Youll figure it out.. Its a simple one.. Try Music Match Jukebox or Winamp to create a playlist..

let us know how you get on..

cya
