I'm working on softmodding my xbox but something went pretty wrong. I got to the point where I was using the autoinstaller to install all the emulators and applications and stuff and my xbox said something like "Write error" and it basically just reset itself. The problem is when it reset itself it must have messed up the dashboard because now when I boot the thing up it just hangs on Updating Xbox Live... Cannot Connect... etc.
Well anyways the problem is this. I have no way to get the softmod installer back on to the xbox and it's no longer on there. I was wondering if any of the games allowed you to just run the exploit off of the memory card instead of requiring it to be run off of the memory card. I have 007 Agent Under Fire and it doesn't let me run the exploit off of the memory card on there. Any one have any experience with trying the other two games?

wow- this ones tricky.
Well, No- none of the exploit games allow you to run the exploit via the memory card. And im assumeing that the AID disc wont launch off your xbox- will it? Beacuse if it dose, you can solve the prob. there almost any method you want- Re-installing, FTPing- and what not. Try the disc agian (AID) thats all the Advice i can give ya- ill PM Pirrup (one of our softmod Admins) the try and help you out.

No the AID disc won't run either. I can boot up any game, but the AID disc doesn't load.

Don't I need another Xbox hard drive for that? I have no access whatsoever to one.
I was wondering if I were to just order a mod chip would I be able to just plug in a newer, bigger hard drive? Or do I still have to unlock the hard drive even if the Xbox has a mod chip in it?

When you say stock HD what do you mean? Computer HD, or XBOX HD?
EDIT - One more thing. Where the heck do I find the MS Dash? It says that I need to keep the MS Dash ready on my PC and isn't that just availible through Xbox live?

Nevermind.
Thanks to a few good google searches I found the torrents, downloaded em' and hotswapped the HD.
Everything is back to normal now so I can successfully softmod this time.
