Suck or not...I'll go.
I am a huge fan of video games to movies, comic books to movies... I just love what we read and play coming to life...identifying with the characters and of course the action/special effects is always cool.
With the prospect of what this movie can bring in...I do hope though that they do not disappoint and go all out to make this movie rock!

I think with the story line and the creatures plus places involved it could be a mega hit. If they go cheap and get things like Sandra Bullock to play Cortana, then it's going to suck out loud.

This could be fun..
Who would you cast? Will Michael Clarke Duncan be outfitted as a brute? HA...seriously though...if you had your choice of hollywood actors...who would play the parts?
Would you have master chief remove his helmet or would you go a'la darth vader and keep the helmet on? This way, you can have the guy who does the game voice-overs to do the movie voice-overs and nobody would know the difference.
This whole development will be quite interesting..not real sure I like the fact that bungie has full artistic control over the movie though...what the F do game developers know about making a good movie!!

"20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures are teaming up to make a feature film adaptation of the Microsoft video game Halo, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "Negotiations still were under way at press time Thursday, but under the deal, Universal will take domestic rights and Fox will handle international on the project. Further components could be included in the agreement. The deal -- based on a script by "28 Days Later" scribe Alex Garland -- caused a stir earlier in the week when CAA sent it out via a messenger clad in a "Halo"-esque green costume. The deal came bearing some pretty stiff terms, including a two-hour bidding period and demands for $10 million against 15% of the gross. The script was commissioned by Microsoft, which also brought in producer Peter Schlessel to work on the project

Well,
Im a HUGE fan of the Halo games/boks- i always thought (and knew in a matter of time) the franchise would be turned into a movie. Now im a bit scared about them F-ing it u (anyone else think house of the dead, resident Evil, Doom movies suck?) I mean they could take a good thing and turn it into a BAD THING!!! im kind of glad bungie will retain the creativity- , but i think they should let the director bring the script to life as they see. I hear (AND HOPE!!) That riddly scott (Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven) is the guy doing the directing...i doubt this is true..but MAN! he has some good movies under his belt.

First of all they need to keep the helmet on. They teased us at the end of the original Halo when he took the mask off but we were at an angle that didn't allow a view. I'm ok with that.
Cortana has to be played by someone with nice hooters and decent buns.
That body suit could be abused trying to stuff someone like Pamela Anderson in it with her fat legs. For sure not that ugly batfaced Angelina Jolie. Her body is ok but I think she's a dog. WOOF!!!
I think if the mask stayed on, Harrison Ford would make a good master chief. He has the voice for it. I think he's busy doing another Indiana Jones though. What about Emilio Estevez? He hasn't been in a lot of movies and I think he's slightly under rated. Brad Pitt is over rated and can't act. Tom Skerritt is perhaps way too old now. What about Michael Biehn, he really hasn't been in anything since The Abyss and plays marine parts well. He was in Aliens too.

I think 2001 playmate Brande Roderick would make the finest cortana.
But also, a big no to arnie, but you need someone like Vin Diesel based off the books. John 117, Master Chief, was chosen for his sheer ability of Luck. There were faster, stronger spartans, but John 117 had the charisma to lead and was lucky enough, according to the Dr., damn I forget her name, the mother of the MJONIR and SPARTAN projects.
And for you guys who have a read the books will know what I mean, when we need a cocky, sarcastic yet shrewd and decisive MChief, during the part of the book, The Fall of Reach, when they are able to be tested against the MJONIR I armor that has to be externally powered. They were in the caverns for only a couple hours and they managed to drop down (with rope which they weren't given) in black ninja style suits (which they were also not given and their commander was suprised they had even found.)
I couldn't help but laugh, it was great to see a literature character to be so resourceful, which is expressed through to the Video Game.
Diesel IS probably a bad choice, but how about Ron Pearlman haha, hellboy is master chief, that is the sorta attitude, plus he looks like he could play a 7 foot tall spartan _________________ XBOX v1.6

But sorry it to bust it to you guys- but more than likely, to keep the authticty of the game, Cortana will be Computer Generated, yeah thats right- nothing but a Injected model, so this HOPEFULY will put the "this women would make a hot cortana" deal to rest......
anyway, Shaun Conery would of made a hot cortana...hehe..
