I have a chip-modded Xbox (with AID2.0 apps on it) and i'd like to know if there's an application in AID to identify the name of the chip and wich bios it use without having to open the machine.(maybe somewhere in the related bios infos?)

The goal is to make sure that i'll not have to flash the bios of the chip (i'm not confortable with that idea) for further larger HD installation.

Thanks!

not sure but if your upgrading your HDD your gonna have to open it. Is there any led's that light up from the inside that you can see when you turn it on? (thru the side vents) It can't be an Xenium ice because you would go to its OS first thing when turned on? I know AID 2 tells you your version, not the chip. Ask the guy you got it from. BTW ask this question on the AID thread and I'm sure you'll get the answer your looking for. Smile

Of course i know i'll have to open the machine when i'll put a new HD ! Surprised

But before doing it i just want to know if my chip support LHD without having to flash it.

I've heard about Bios Checker...I'll see what can be done from it.

Thanks

Try pressing the eject button to turn on the xbox. You might get a chips os and you can tell which chip you have by that. If you dont get a os telling you, its not the xenium.

I 've learned that could be only an Apple X3 or X5...There's an orange X appear during booting from the chip.

I would like to know exactly wich one i have.

I heard about Metoo PBL could help me...but how?

Sorry, I don't know what else to tell you. I am unfamiliar with that chip (Actually, thats an understatement. I've never heard of it till you posted this message). How big of a harddrive are you planning on installing? It seems as though you only need that new bios of you are going above the 137 GB size. So if you go with the 120, you should be fine either way. Or you can just go with something bigger and hope for the best (the worst that will happen is you have to update the bios, which is extremely easy to do.

Hope that helps.
