i just got my xbox modded and it has the xecuter 3 chip ver 1.6 in it and when i put in a burnt disc it doesn't recognize it.i'm not shure but i dont think the bios has been flashed correctly. how do you flash the bios and add a dashboard or is the original good. don't want to go thru the hassle of sending it back if i can fix it myself.

1) when you boot your xbox with the x3 enabled you should see a screen similar to these:
2) if you dont see the xecuter flashbios screen your chip isnt installed properly (which is usually the case) or the chip could be damaged (not likely... but possible).
3) while you are looking at the link i posted be sure to check the other methods you can use to flash your x3 bios.

Just about everyone for the most part might have a bad solder joint, hey it happens. The Xecuter is very newb friendly. (I am not sayinig newb to the scene, just to the chip.) It just has a finesse. Some people get lucky with the install first go, lucky basteards... but check everything.
Hint if you box is make sure you have 2 blue led's and red (not green) for flashing. Also, if your box frags with those lights on, that means your D0 is a good solder b/c it is interupting the ground to the original bios. Just some problems may lie else where.
And as for flsahing, try considering web flashing if you are able too, it is a much easier systm. The disc is picky and requires a dummy file created a certain way renaming the bios.bin
