ok..sorry if im botherin you all but this ftp not working is freakin me out. i checked to see what my pc's ip was( i clicked start, clicked run typed cmd, then typed ipconfig) it said:
connection specific DNS suffix .: myhome.westell.com
IP Address...... 192.168.1.46
subnet mask..... 255.255.255.0
default gateway... 192.168.1.1
now im using FlashFXP i click the lightning bolt go to quick connect, i know that the username and password is xbox, ive tried so many other combinations for server and url, im goin nuts.. last night , 192.168.1.47 worked, but not today.. ive been readin tutorials and other forums, but most of them say to change your..computers IP?!? is that even possible? and do i have to?
Now i know i have asked alot from modgod and a few others and you all have kindly helped..and for that i am grateful. With this ftp stuff thoughi might go insane

try changing the gateway on your xbox to match the default gateway on your PC and see if that helps, besides that everything else looks alright. Its just hard sometimes to find two IP addys that work together _________________ Xbox v1.0

thanks andrew..but for some reason i cant change the ip or the gateway..maybe its jst my xbox..still cant figure it out though

what are you using in the xbox to FTP? If your using the dashboard (ie evox) it will have network options under settings where you can change this info. Never heard of and xbox FTP app where you cant change this info _________________ Xbox v1.0

Yes, change the IP address to something like 192.168.1.XXX
and change the gateway to 192.168.1.1. That should fix it. These things are changed in evox and in the config.ini _________________ "Modding the world, one xbox at a time"

Im assuming you have a modded xbox.....because if your xbox IS NOT modded then you CAN NOT FTP into it. _________________ Xbox v1.0

From looking at your computers IP address I assume that you have a router with DHCP enabled. Just change your setting on your xbox to enable DHCP. Once you reboot look at the IP address of your xbox and try to ftp into it.

Have you tried auto detect? Not sure what dash your using but in unleash x in the settings menu you would change the network type to DHCP and then turn on auto detect. If their is a setting to do that its alot easier.
