Hey ppl.
It's time for the testing phase of AID 2. Now, before you all start posting in this thread, I DO NOT NEED ANY MORE TESTERS!! as I'm quite happy with the small number of people that I have selected. So please no posts asking to be a tester otherwise I'll personally delete the post.
The only people required to post in this thread are the testers, you may all read what's going on with the testing but please do not post here. Same rule applies, if you're not on the testing staff your post will be deleted.
Sorry about being so blunt about this, but I am focused directly on this project and this thread should really be kept only for bug reports etc.
Anyways, here is the selected few that are on the AID 2 testing team:
Now, I have already found one bug in the beta 7 that I only sent to you guys the other day. There was a problem with some of the skin installs for the dashboards. I have sent the testers a PM with a link to the new config.xml file, which has fixed this problem. You are all pretty experienced so I'm guessing that you know what to do, if not contact me for help.
I apologise to you for this as I only just noticed it today when taking it through tests myself.
Anyways, it's gonna be about atleast another week before you all get your betas, so this is just prior warning, hehe.
Regards,
DJB

OK, I've just released Beta 9 Update for you to use. I know now that you all have the CD I sent you.
I'll be contacting you to tell you where the link is for the updates, which is a folder where you can view all the files present in it.
Anyways, leave some feedback or bug reports please
Regards,

Testing of AID 2 BETA 9
By: Brandon Cossette
Well as hard as I try to break these damn programs of DJB's, I always fail. Once again, a solid program, which seems to honestly have no bugs. The main task from here on out will be organization. You will notice some great changes from AID 1. First of all let's start out with the into music . . . Let's just say you best get ready to creme your pants, because he just outdid himself from the first version of AID. On top of all the newest versions of all Applications and Emulators, now he has an "advanced options" menu which allows the installation of x-select so that you can have more than one dashboard on a single Bios. Very Cool!
That's about all your getting for a sneak preview from me as far as content, the rest you'll just have to wait on, but bug wise we're in darn good shape, i'll keep trying to break it, but it looks like im not going to have very good luck.
Stay Tuned for an update of Beta 10. _________________ Brandon Cossette

Testing of AID 2 BETA 10
By: Brandon Cossette
Just a few things to comment on. First and foremost DJB now added a single menu with all of the Softmod Content, because it was a bit intimidating trying to find what exactly you needed for your softmod, so now we have it all in 1 selection on the menu, so that's great.
He also added an option to install all of the files from AID 2 onto your hard drive, so that it can be accessed without using the disk. (Yeah I thought that up, because im cool )
Other than that, Like I said above, I think it's just more of an organization thing from here on out.
I'll be looking for some more stuff on it in later hours today, along with your daily news on the Xbox-HQ.com main page. BCossette is out.

Thanks for the feedback
Sorry, I did forget to mention to the rest of the testers that I have uploaded the beta 10 update for testing.
From memory the whole "Install AID 2.0 to HDD" won't run properly once AID is booted off the HDD, due to hard-coding of the paths for all the installer's files. I'll hopefully have this covered for the new beta...
So please testers, more feedback. Follow Bcossette's footsteps and post

Ok, I been doing my testing and it looks & feels really good, very impressed.
Only one slight cosmetic bug that I noticed on 2 different xbox's
When it booted up the first time it showed the cube logo then and xbox logo, but after a second or so it shrunk on the one side of the screen like as if it did not reach the edge of the screen anymore.
And on consecutive boots it instead shows the unleashX logo and this did the same thing
other than that nothing else to report

Yes I've noticed this too.
I think this is a problem when the intro boots unleashx. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to fix this one as it's a problem with unleashx's code.

OK testers, Beta 13 is up.
Added X-DSL plus tweaked the SID 3 install menu. Now it will install directly to memory cards

Hmm, honestly I'd rather have it let you choose mem card or the hard drive fore the install, Good news about the x-dsl, I haven't gotten to try that out yet, it looked cool. _________________

AID 2 Beta 13 lets you install SID 3 to either HDD or Mem Card.

Ok, beta 14 is out. check the changelog. Mainly softmod stuff added.
This will be the last beta I'll release, just to make sure that all the functions work correctly etc. I know there is a new XBMC (2005-04-01) and I'm grabbing it now, but I'm not gonna bother updating any more apps until I release it.
Also, I want to know if you've all grabbed the updates or not, as I will clear them soon if everyone can get up to date. Remember, you need ALL update packs installed in the order they were released. This should create the perfect full version. Once you have made yourself a beta 14 ISO, let me know.
I also want to quickly thank our newest tester Pirrup for noticing a problem with SID 3, that has now been corrected. Cheers mate! Can't wait to see the Belgian translation from you
At this time I'm after translations, so if any of you can help out that would be great. The only thing I request is you don't just use an online translator for it or nothing, as these are not correct sometimes and translate really poorly. If you know someone who speaks another language fluently, by all means give them a look at the text files for translating, but ofcourse be there if they don't understand something.
OK, that's about it now. We're finally coming close to the end of the road on this one, so please put that little extra effort in a good, last test.
Have fun with this beauty, everyone's gonna love it
