I need help identifying the chip on my new XBox. On booting I get an Evo X logo top left and using AID101 I am told its an M8++ 16. However I cannot seem to update to the M8+ 16 137GB and I would like to be able to use the entire 200gb drive. I have formatted and prepared the drive under the current bios and cannot boot from the drive unless I hold the power button in for a while or I get the "service" message.
I used the "Flash Bios / [Un]Lock HDD utility in AID101 to try and flash the bios with the M8+ 16 137gb bios but after 2 hours of waiting while all it said was "Erasing" I kinda guessed it was'nt going to work.
Any help/ suggestions will be appreciated and sorry for the noob questions ( I did look through the forums but did'nt find what I needed)

Bios Checker says its a Homebrew (bf52)
Using Genuine BIOS -> Evox M8+16
Bios MD5 Hash -> 5ffc9b59a4da6ff5947dcb166e946a89
I have also tried using EVTool and created a DVD with the Bios.bin file and a huge dummy file to no avail as it just boots right past the DVD and again with a CDR.

The chip is a Lattice ISPMach LC4032V with the SST49LF020A. It appears from info found using Google its an Alladin Mod which is apparently easy to update.........

I am in no way an expert, but from what I have been reading, I believe you must burn to a cdrw and at very slow speeds, not a cdr. hope that helps.

I actually recommend using DVD-R disks when doing installers. You are much better off.
Very few CDRs get read in Xbox DVD Drives. I have had some samsuns that read some cheaper CDRs, but rarely do I run across a drive that will not read a DVD-R. I use the autoinstaller at least two to three times per day. I only use DVD-Rs... I dont leave home without'em
