I have seen people post tuts on how to make a jewel ring out of coke cans, icee cups and other things. I was at work today and i was looking around my desk then it hit me BAM. Why not use the inner cardboard roll off a roll of stickytape. here are some pics of a ring i made today in just 20 minutes from start to finish also the carboard sellotape roll i used. Its my first mod so dont judge too harshly.

Pretty simple 1 positive soldered to all positive legs, 1 negative soldered to negative legs. 15 ohm resistor connected to a straight through molex connector with fan y splitter

Been there, use that
Nice thinking though! You can also get slightly bigger tubing to cover the outside of the ring and avoid all that glue. Then, put double sided tape on the top so you can peel it away and stick the ring right under the jewel against the case top.

These are the standard 5000mcd 3mm LED's that you can get from leds123.com for .015 each...
There are ten of them in this ring.. what isn't shown in the picture is the wiring and molex connectors. These rings need no splitter. Has one molex connector for power input, then another to power up the HD. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
