I have some .AVI videos that will not play the video in XBMC, and I have the codecs that will play them on my PC in WMP. I tried to FTP all those codecs to the directory in XBMC named (codecs) and still no video, it just freezes... any way of playing most avi files in XBMC or transferring codecs to that program???? any help would be appreciated Mark
bornazen@hotmail.com Sorry to get off the subject but another Question is whether the Xbox DVD player needs a file installed to read digital audio, it does not work with my surround sound reciever and yes it is plugged in that way.....

hi,
XBMC works fine for me using uncompress avi's, divx avi's, xvid avi's not probs at all.. Are you sure you are running the latest version of XBMC??
btw.. Im sure you cant just copy pc codecs over to the xbox.. XBMC is compiled with the codecs inside..

So do you have the firbe optic 5.1 out on your xbox av pack?
Otherwise your xbox will only give off prologic surround and not true 5.1 surround.
