I seemed to be one of those people who was confused about the EVO-X bios/dash.(I understand now) I downloaded the BIN which must be the bios. Setup the FLASH option to boot to it and I get a triangle in the top left corner that says EVO-X but it loads the factory dashboard. 2 Questions. 1, Whats the best thing for me to get/do with my Xenium Ice Solderless (installed and working great) Really for now all I'd like to do is figure out how to transfer my music (MP3's) to the Xbox for use with games. I'd like to get a nice looking dash too and start learning how to spice it up. Eventually I'll get a bigger HD within the next month or two. My Xenium ice is using the OS it came with 2.0.1 and I do have the retail setup and working properly. I guess I am askin where I can find out how to get my mp3's over (what drive/area to put them in)
I seem to be having a hard time finding the files to download that I need (EVO Dash and X2 Bios that I keep seeing)
Oh and 1 more ez question, the extra LED that came with my Xenium has what looks to be a ground connector. I've read through the install guides (cap's also) and no one mentions where it should be going. Does it just attach to where the solderless adapter screws into the motherboard?

I can answer the ground question. No it's not mentioned anywhere and if you do connect it, it shorts across the motherboard and gives an error. ( I did it thinking the same thing Confused ) I have found it's not needed and the leds and chip work like a dream.

That would tell me that your bios is working but that you don't have any other dashboards installed so it's going to the only dash available. There is an auto installer available here that will install Evox dash for you and an even better installer (hopefully) just days away that will do a whole lot more than that including Avalaunch.

I can't seem to download anything , I take it you need the VIP access and need to pay for any downloads on this site.
I notice you have EVO and AVALAUNCH. Did you just download them and install them from the auto installer you mentioned, or did you do it manually? Question
Also does EVO and or AVA allow you to copy your mp3's to your XBOX and use them in the custom sound tracks?

Hiya

You can download them seperatley but you would still have to make your own auto-installer, so best to just download one.

You can't use mp3's in custom soundtracks, only cd's loaded into the ms dash, you can use .wma files but it's a bit complicated to do.

You can copy ur mp3's to play in a media player tho, to copy them over you will need evox or ava installed as they both have ftp server options

I am downloading Slayers Auto Installer 2.6 now. Do you have any pages that show how people are doing the wma, I know how to convert them and all that crap. I'm actually a PC Tech so the PC side is easy but I am just now learning the xbox side since my warranty ran out. I know I can FTP to my XBOX (I have) and I see the drives, and suposidly C and E are the important ones. I'll see what happens tonight when I get the time to do this auto install. Hopefully I don't screw anything up with that. Thanks for your input so far guys. Keep er comin Very Happy

Hiya

I have never seen a tutorial.

Basically they are stored as wma files on the HD anyway on the E drive, they are either in T date or U date folder, I would copy a CD to the hard drive (music) in MS dash, then find it in those folders, should be something like feee000 or some shit like that, then just put the wma's in that folder, add 1 or too and then reboot, and try listenning to them in ms dash, then in a game

Thanks for the tip , I'll give that a whirl. I looked through the drives on the xbox and didn't find it last time. I have 1 already on there, so i'll just search for wma files if I don't find them in the folders you suggested. Thanks again!

Looks like I somehow screwed up my modchip. Xenium Ice , The LED is Purple/Violet and no one knows what that means and it just reboots my Xbox 3 times when connected and goes to a FRAG. Everything I found points to a mis-alignment. but I had taken it out many times and put it back in and it still does the same thing. I know the alignment is right. The only thing I can do is send it back. The place I got it from said they have a .05% failure rate. Thats kinda odd in my eyes. Should I mark it so if they send it back and say it was fine (they charge $15 diagnostic fee and return shipping i have to pay) I read 1 other post where the led color was the same and their chip was bad due to solder getting on the chip. I didn't use any solder.

When your chip turns on and off three times, after it stays on try pressing and holding the eject button for about two seconds and see if it jars the OS to boot.

I have had to do that a few times. The Xenium Ice's OS IMHO has a few bugs that still need addressed. I have had some problems lately after initial install.

Let me know if that helps. Also, any company that charges you to check out a defective chip deserves an ass whipping. I can understand that this is a field where a lot of issues comes from operator error, but at the same time if they gave good support to their customers and ruled everything out then they would know it's a chip issue.

The fact that you are getting an odd color LED and a frag should tell them that something aint right with this OS. Damn pikers! I have only had problems with 1 chip. I went to Bmmods support desk they asked me a few questions and told me to send it back. Within four days I had a brand new one, no questions asked, no fees.
