I installed a Xecuter 2.6 with an xadapter in a 1.5 box. It boot to flashbois and I have tried to flash the bois to ver 4983.67 (on bank 2 with flash protection off). It goes through all the flashing messages and the status bars complete. However, then on bank 1 or bank 2 I just keep getting the flashbois screen again. I wnat to install Evos using the auto installer but I do not think that the bois is flashing correctly.
Help!!

I have tried the BOIS disk and still have the same problem so thinking that I should get a programmer and try that. The chip looks as though it is is fitted correctly as the LEDs are all on and it boots to the flashbios. Could this be a caused by incorrectly fitting?

Hi,
Sounds like it is just a MEDIA PROBLEM mate.
I would try burning as slow as possible (1x) to a couple of different brands of DVD-R/CDRW until you find one that works..
this is the bit that sucks!.. Once you find the media that your xbox likes you will be laughing..
btw.. A modchip programmer is always a good idea anyway.

I tried several diff disks and it still jsut kept going to the flash bois screen. I am not sure how why this worked but it did and may help someone with the same problem - I open the bois bin that I downloaded from the vip downloads section with x2 bois manager into bank 1 and copied it to bank 2 also. I then saved the bois.bin over the one that was downloaded. Burned it to CD-RW (one that did not work before). Selected bank and flash protect desiabled. Flashed the bios and on bank 1 I now have the bois and bank 2 is the bios loader.

Hey, before I solved the porb I had what I considered some bad advice from team xecuter i.e it did not work - then when I described how I solved it some twat told me that this is explained in every tutorial - just wish I could find that for me and every other person who has posted a problem with flashing the bios with this chip for the first time!
It looks like a lot of users of the site are having the same type of problems with the 2.6 chip is it worth posting the solution I found at least as a sticky as it could save a lot of people some time and stress.
