Hi, I am in the attempted process of upgrading my hard drive and I have successfully soft-modded my xbox but now I am stuck with trying to using FTP procedure between my pc and xbox.
I am using a router, I have configured the xbox to match the default gateway and IP address of my pc via IPCONFIG protocol.
Lastly, I attempted to use a FLASHxp program for the ftp procedure and I always get a FAILED connection.
You could try Total Commander,
Or
Windows Explorer - Type : ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.0.1 (<- or whateva your xbox IP is)
Or
Windows calculator - goto calculator, click on `help` then `help topics` then the little yellow question mark, then `jump to url` then type ftp://192.168.0.1
If you cant `ping` it theres a fault in your settings, also the calculator ones a stupid idea, just thought id inform you that its possible _________________

I keep getting a Windows Sys error. "There is a conflict with host ip address and ip address (xbox). I seem to have fixed that issue by matching the exact same IP address and default gateway address but I still get a FAILED connect. Please help for I am lost here.

Also, I have completely deactivated all firewall/ etc programs.
The xbox and the pc cant have the same IP
Change the xbox one to something in the same range (ie. PC = 192.168.0.1 - Xbox 192.168.0.2 ) _________________

Ok, for example, this would be the set up you could use:
PC
IP: 192.168.0.10
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Xbox
IP: 192.168.0.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Only the IP addresses should differ. The rest should remain in the same range. On the EvoX dash settings, you don't need to enter the Default Gateway, so if it isn't there then don't worry too much about it.
Thx a mill! I will totally make revisions, will get back to you guys soon, thx!

Glad to hear you got it working man.
How will you be doing your upgrade? Chimp, XboxHDM?
Hi. I am in the process in setting up xbox live acct. 1st before starting the dual boot procedure.
My Primary intention is to upgrade to a 160 GB hd. I have already made the XBOXHDM boot disc so I might go with that route. thx a lot and I'll keep you posted.
Many thx!

I'll have to make another xboxhdm boot disc because the one I made before was to RESTORE a eeprom from another xbox and for some reason, I am having a terrible time in making this boot disc this go around.
The error I keep getting is "linux cd not found" despite actually having the linux folder on the disc.
I am seriously considering the CHIMP method of a hard drive upgrade, but I have two questions for the chimp method?...
1. Besides hd upgrade, can CHIMP perform restore/ functions as XBOXHDM ?
and
2. What physical items do I need to purchase for chimp? Because I think I need a splitter or something?
Please help and thx guys.

Hi,
Ok, lets see if I can help you out.
1. Chimp has facilities to Clone, Lock and Unlock the HDD. It has two methods of upgrade. Beyond that, what other features were you enquiring about?
2. Yes, you'll need a molex Y-splitter, like the one in the pic below. Thats to provide power to both HDD's during the clone.
