Ok so i have a s**ty xbox, its disc readetr give me that stupid "disc is dirty or damaged" screen 24/7. It seems though that it likes certain games, like halo 2. Well i was playing halo 2 yesturday and I just got raped by an elite (he got me from behind) well as you know the controller started to vibrate rather violently, and BAM there it is "this disc is dirty or damaged" but the controller didnt stop vibrating. Now whenever the system is powered on the controller vibrates. All of its controlls are dissabled. Even when i use my Xbox to usb converter (i got it from llama).
HELP! plz what do i do? Its my last working controller and im pov so i cant buy a new one.
PS, Its the Goliath (not S) type controller if that helps.
Thanks in advance.

Sup guy, sounds like you got a bunch of bad crap going on here.
1 Did you try cleaning the disk drive lens with a Q-tip and a drop of alcohol?
2 Did you try switching port 1&2 for port 3&4 to make sure its not that giving you troubles?

Cleaning the lens can be a bad thing if you have a heavy hand but you should be OK if you use very little alcohol and rub gentle.
As far as the controller you could pop it open and look over the contacts and such since it whacked any way you don't have much ta risk.

Ya i did pop it open, i couldnt see any scratches or fractures or any loose things, so i assume its solid, theres no cord damage and i havnt thrown it or anything. Anyways i called the microsoft support line earlier and they were no help (big no f**king duh) and the warranty is shot. I assume that the microprocessor in the controller is fried or something. Thanks for the help though, and I will be trying to clean the disc reader, i need to get some q tips though so ill update later when i have done so. Thanks for the sugestions! and crazy fast responces.

Aint no thing and definitely keep us posted.
Sucks about the controller but on the bright side its not the most expensive thing you could need to replace.
