I have my xbox softmodded with unleashx as my dash and xbmc installed, and it works great, but this was my first mod so I'm not real happy with how it turned out. Is there some way that I can just start completely over? Do I need to just format E: and restore C: to the way it was prior to the softmod? Also, how does the msdash know where to find the default.xbe file for whatever dash you are going to run at startup? Is there like an equivalent to an autoexec.bat file somewhere? Somebody help me out so I can get it how I want this time!

Do you have an AID disk? If so it's probably the easiest way to do a complete uninstall then reinstall. If you have a copy of the AID disk let me know then we can go from there.

Well what I really want to do is get rid of unleashx. i want to be able to boot right into xbmc. Its probably easy to do, I just don't know how to do it. I guess the question is how do I change my default dash. Once I get it booting straight to xbmc, I'll work out all the other little problems i have with it.

theres your problem, xbmc needs to be in the root of E and not under apps. Anything under apps is going to do nothing but allow you to run it when you want rather than it automatically booting up.

But yes, as sik_wid_it asked, do you have a copy of the AIDs (Auto Installer Deluxe)? This disc will automatically set your main dash to which ever you choose, like XBMC for example.

Just to get it out there...you should never wipe off you hard drive of you 1st modded xbox, because without experience, how can you learn so you will know exactly what to do on your next mod? catch what I'm saying?

If you don't have AID, you need to FTP in and change the location of the dash u wanna use and probably edit the xbe file to read the other dash instead.
