I just downloaded the autoinstaller but have not made any attempts yet. Honestly, I am completely new to the "MOD World" and need any suggestions or help I can get. How do I use the autointaller? I will need to network my computer to my XBOX, right?

Not to use the Autoinstaller. Let me find out a little bit of info from you. What size HD do you have in your machine. What modchip, and what version xbox do you have.
The info that I give you will vary depending on some of that info.

Okay, you have a 1.0 machine and a Xenium Ice with the stock HD.
First, with the stock HD you won't be able to really store any xbox games on the HD, maybe one or two if that. So please keep that in mind.
What you need to do is download the Autoinstaller and unzip it. If it is a .rar file, use WinRAR or ZipGenius. You can use those programs too if it is a .zip file. Once you have it decompressed all you have to do is burn it to media that your xbox will read. I suggest using DVD+or-R's. The file you are burning is already an .iso file, so you do not need to do any converting.
You should have already established your TSOP and Hacked Bios Flash.
If not, do not go any further. You need to take care of that BEFORE you try to load the AI.
If you are good to go, then proceded.
Turn on your machine and put the AI disk in the tray. From your Xenium menu select, "Launch Menu", then select your Hacked Bios...
If you burned the AI to a disk that your xbox will read, you will get the AI Main Menu.
First thing you want to do is unlock your HD. You may have to look around for the option in one of the subcategories, but you should be able to find easily. Once HD is unlocked you will want to format and prepare your HD according to it's size. You have the retail HD so do not choose Large HD.
You will be installing your dashboards on C drive. I would suggest installing EvoX Build 3935. You will also have to reinstall the MS Dash as when you format the HD you will be deleting the original. Once you are done installing all you want to put on your HD, make sure you lock the HD.
It's fairly easy to do all of this, just follow the menu prompts. If you get stuck, don't move on..just post a question and we'll help. There is a PDF File on our site that gives you a sort of walk through with the AI. I am not sure of the link, I'll have to go look.. if someone else has the link, please post.

I have the Cromwell bios, but am unsure as to how to install that as well.
Can you give me a quick walkthrough? Also, is that one a good one? Which bios would you suggest with what I'm working with.

Once I have installed Evox, how do I install the original MS dashboard. Do I have to download it from somewhere?

i recommend you use a xecuter 4983.06 bios ,
select an option FULL INSTALL from the installer menu to C:\
it will install everything you need , including MSDASH ,
install to c:\ if bios boot from c:\
install to f:\ if bios boot from f:\
pretty simple huh?

I intstalled the xecuter 4983 bios, but when I boot from it it goes to what looks like my MS dashboard and then says that the disk is unreadable.(I am still trying to get Evolution X dashboard setup!!!) This is all new to me and I know its something so damn simple I am not doing right.
I did not see an option for a "full install" when I intalled the bios...What is it that I need to do? Any and all help is greatly appreciated....

you need to download a autoinstaller
and burn it ...preferably on a dvd-r if u own a dvd burner,
all installers come in the xxxx.iso format , so u have to burn that iso (note ,that doesnt mean put the iso file on the cd , it means burn the iso image on the cd)
after you burn the autoinstaller put the dvd in the xbox , then reboot ,
if all is well the installer will boot from the dvd and you will have few otions available to you ,
thats where you select a full install from ,

Let the AI install everything for you.
Download our xbox-hq 1.3 autoinstaller. Just burn it to a dvd r that your xbox dvd rom will read. It is already in .ISO format, so no converting is needed.
Once you insert the disk, just reboot with the disk in. You must have your hacked bios flashed to the modchip, otherwise the disk will not get read.
If you have the retail HD in, please UNLOCK now.
When you get to the main menu, choose FORMAT HD. You will format it based on it's size. Either retail or large HD. Retail is if you kept the stock HD in the xbox, large of course is if you have replaced it with a larger HD.
After you format it, you want to PREPARE HD. This adds the necessary folders to the partitions and gets it ready to accept the applications and dashboards you are about to install.
Next, install MS Dashboard. Next install Evolution X build 3935 to C drive. If you have a large HD then you will want E + F support. If you flashed a bios that ends in .67 then you will probably need E+F+G support as you may end up with a 7th partition.
Once your dash's are installed, now install your applications to F drive if you have a large HD, E if you don't.
Now, LOCK your HD.
Lastly, I install DVD Region free. I do this last because it requires your xbox to reboot.
Remember, you now have locked your HD. If this is a large HD and you ever want to use it in another machine again, make sure you unlock it before you remove it. Once you lock a HD to a mobo its paired up with that one until the security feature is removed...if ever removed.
