I use c-xbox for my flile transfers to my box. Up to now Iv used a crossover cable and can transfer a 2GB game in about 10 minutes.

Yesterday I installed a hub and patch cords and although it says connected at 10Mbps, I cant get it over 56kbps. It took 12 hours to transfer a 2GB game!

What gives?

What FTP app are you using and have you checked the settings for a speed limiter?

I'v been using Cxbox and Evox for the last 2 years with no problems.
Everything looks normal, I tried another patch cord and it's now transferring at 400kb/s which is a lot better but still not ideal.

Try using a 10/100mb hub or router and use crossover cables. Make sure ur hub or router is not limiting the transfer speed.

I am, there is another PC and a wireless modem on the hub. PC-PC transfers, internet etc is all normal. I'm running static addresses for each.
Don't think its the hub as I'v tried swapping ports/patch cables etc

It is dynamic - I notice that if I power the server on first I get 56k, if I power the xbox first I get 400kb - weird
