I recently lost my softmod, so I reinstalled. After that, my XBox boots with a split screen, the right half is on the left and the left on the right. This happens with my normal setup, which is connected though the HD AV pack. When I switch to the standard av cables, its fine. I changed out the HD AV pack, just in case. Same thing.
What should I look for? Wonder what I did to get this. I used the 007 softmod method to restore using SID. Same thing and I did the last time i did this (or so I thought).
PS. this only happens when booting to the softmod menu. Booting games directly from the DVD, it works fine
Thanks
kaz

When the screen is split do you get an error code in the top corner?
Have you tryed any other dashes then evox and MS?
Are you sure that the hd cables are in the right spot on the back of the tv?
I know i have seen a post saying the same thing as your post, just can think of whare i saw it.

Thanks for the response. I double checked all my connections. But it works ok wen playing straight from the DVD games, so I am thinking its something with the softmod. After boot, and it spits, I have launched other apps and dashes, my main dash is XBMC, so I have that set up now. Same thing. I tried launching the MS dash, same thing. No error codes that I can see.
I did a search before I posted, but I did not see anything. But I will seach some more,
Thanks!

Try going in the dash settings and check the video settings for res size.
Is it a wide screen or a standerd screen?

Tried that too. It was set to standard, and I checked each option to see if there are any changes. None.

I appreciate your time on this. Its frustrating when you have an issue no one has seen,
I will prob start from scratch on this disk. Just a pain. But I dropped in the AID disk, and booted. Its split screen too. Seems strange to me.
I might try the restore option and see what happens. Then do the process again, If that fails, a full format...
THanks again

So, It was all my doing from the start. Going through the softmod install again, I realized I chose Standard HD instead of standard. HD for HiDef, I imagine, not Hard Drive, as in Larger HD. Oh well. A mistake I never made before (I have moded many this way), and wont likely do again...
Perhaps my blunder will help others who pass by...
Sorry to take up your time, but I appreciate your help. I'm fixed now...
