unfortunate for me No. but I will not error that way again. I am reading the twelve easy steps with a chipped box. I got excited with the two softmods and i was gonna try to upgrade the hd this weekend. and i need to read some more. before I frag this box. right in the middle of my first attempt the power supply on the labrat died and i had to slap another one in and start over. sorry for the stupid questions. I just think im on a roll and then screw it up and then backtrack fix and jump in again, this is fun as Hell

Hold on so your upgradeing the hdd in a soft mod and thats a 1.0 xbox right?

No this is the 1.6 the 1.0 is setting on my desk plugged up to keep the power up and charged. will they corrupt if they loose the on board battery. I say again this is the 1.6 and only because it was the last one hooked up so after the soft mod i went after HD upgrade I have One chipped 1.6 xenium spice One 1.6 soft modded One 1.0 softmodded and one more 1.0? setting on my shelf just waiting for its turn in the line. was the question you asked a caution flag?

well I finally got it to take the upgrade! two mentionable Mistakes on my part
1. Make sure larger harddrive is good. Mine was bad. 2. make sure when you rename the EEprombackup.bin to eeprom.bin that it is in lower case letters. after some very indepth selfchecking I noticed the uppercase letters and changed them and it worked smooth as silk. thanks for the Help

You know Iv'e had the chipped box for a long time, and i run hot and cold on loading different apps and games because mainly we just play it. I hope that the old Xbox is around for a long time. and its about time I learned a little more about what it can really do, in the past several days Ive learned and relearned quit a bit . and i downloaded the latest XBMC and it is cool as hell. and Im sure that there are lots of apps that are just as cool. I plan on being a regular reader here ( and poster when I'm in trouble) see ya later.
