Okay, so I have a softmodded Xbox(I have yet to order a chip and a bigger hard drive). I've never had a problem playing burned games in the past on it. I FTP'd the game from the hard drive, to my PC(The game is Splinter Cell). I created an ISO using qwix no problem. Burned it too. The XBox reads it as a game file, and then the skin goes to the "Loading" screen, and freezes there.
Now THIS is my question:
I'm using Verbatim DVD+R's, which I've heard are one of the best...also, I've seen another person on here with a similar problem. He was suggested to upgrade the EvoX dashboard. My current version is 3935. Is this not the current version? Do you guys have an updated version in your software section? I have not been able to find one, nor have I been able to locate instructions on exactly how to update the dash...any help would be greatly appreciated.

So how do you update to XBMC? All I see in the download section is a translator and whatnot...I see nothing along the lines of what I'm familiar with as being a dash...

I wasn't aware the Auto-Installers could be used to update the dash...when my Xbox was modded(someone showed me how to mod them), EvoX, and Avalaunch were the only 2 he knew of. But, anyway, like I said, I'll try anything once. Hopefully I won't destroy the XBox. LOL. But I don't foresee any problem...I'm pretty computer literate...anyway, like I said, I'll try this, and let you know how it goes.

If you're really that worried, you can just use SID to install unleash x. From there you can just FTP the newest version to your xbox. A new version of Unleash X was released fairly recently. _________________

hmm, this normally happens after a hard drive upgrade. Have you tried the original game disc and see if that works. May just be worth deleting all the cache files anyway and see how you get on

The original works fine. It even works when ripped to the hard drive. But the hard drive has not been upgraded. I'm wondering if it's related to the fact that I'm using DVD+R's...or if bong's right about my dash being outdated. I'll install a newer dash later and see what happens...

I just noticed something new...on the copy I tried to burn, about 1-1 1/2 inch of the outer edge of the disc is a strip that looks different...i.e. there is a noticeable difference in the disc...they weren't like that prior to the burn...nor does any other dvd I burn come out like that...is that due to the files being an iso, or what?

make sure to use DVD-R as DVD+R are primarily video format discs.
If the original works fine and its ok ripped to thye HDD then the image, media or the burn process are the problem.
I've never had a problem with Qwix creating iso images so the media would be the most favourite culprit

Well, pezzar, would you recommend updating the dash from EvoX though?
