I've had my xbox softmodded for a few months now & everything is running as it should.
I'm now trying to connect my xbox & pc using a crossover cable, variours tutorials have been read & configurations tried but the end result is always the same, connection is always achieved but after anything from about 30 seconds to a few minutes connection is always lost/broken.

I'm guessing its my ethernet adapter (Realtek RTL8029) anybody have any other ideas ?

If your not clicking on anything for a while, it may lose connection.

Thanks for your suggestions - After reading marcosdjcm's post (I have FTP access but file transfer is failing) the problem seemed similar. So i tried shortening the filenames & they now transfer without problem.

I have been transfering my files/data onto my xbox via data disc with no problem's so is the filename length problem just related to ftp ?
