when i turn on my xbox it turns on and off 3 times and on the 3rd time it blinks red. it started working for a bit but then it did it again last night and now it does that whenever i try to turn it on. can any one provide me with a solution or tell me why its doing this.

does it have a mod? what kind? has it been stable and all the sudden done this, or did something happen to cause this?

it has an x2 chip and it has done this in the past but then it work ok after i mess with it. it just started yesterday again and i opened it and took out the chp for a bit and it worked fine. i put it back on and it work fine again but i turned it off to check on it and it did the same again. i took everything off the mother board. i put a new power supply, i changed the wires. i dont know what else to do.

i had a 2.1 that did this same thing.
i think the lower 2 series are "known" to be unstable at times...
it could be the install as well (pin header or d0 point)

I had that problem once with my Xenium, the d0 came loose. I fixed the d0 and reflashed the bios. Thats all it needed. _________________

its not solderless. thanks for the help ill try what you guys suggested and i also have another problem if you guys can help me with that. i tried to softmod 2 xboxs but the AID frozed on me before it was finished. i had to restard the xbox so now one brings up an error 21 and the other one boots up and tries to go into the sm dash but then it also goes to the error 21. i tried to reinstall again but they will not read the AID disk so is there anything else i can do or does this mean i have to buy another chip for them.

hmm, i agree, the D0 should be the problem for the 1st part.
The 2nd part. I don't think it froze, it gets to a file that takes a bit longer than both, called shadow.img, or something close to that. Just give it a few next time

well i tried to do the hotswap but when i disconect the xbox dvd rom, the error that pops up is 12 and not 11 so the xboxhd disk tells me the hd is locked..
