Hope I am doing this correctly. Posted 3 separate posts for 3 questions rather than one big one. Well still a beginner. In the last 6 months have baught about 30 different XBOX games and have sucessfully backed up 27 of them to DVD-R media. So I have the original games stored in a safe place while my son plays the copies using XBMC. If he scratches a disc no big deal; I can quicly burn another new iso copy. My XBOX samsung drive model does not like DVD+R media. I got a dual layer DVD burner for my PC as Christmas Present and am experimenting with the 3 games I have not been able to back up. (Their ISOs were to big to fit on DVD-R media.) I found DVD+R DL media readily available at all my local computer stores. But my first experiment was a failure(the large ISO game copy would not play in my XBOX.
Anybody have any experience with dual layer media?
Because my XBOX Samsung drive wont play DVD+R media does it follow that it will not play DVD+R DL media also?
My burner documentation says it can burn DVD-R DL media also but... none of my local stores have it. Anybody know why?
I googled DVD-R DL and discovered that it is available via internet order but it is much more expensive than DVD+R DL. Anybody know why?
I will order and try.
I have seen nice summary of what media the different XBOX DVD players can read but have not yet seen any info about DVD+R DL or DVD-R DL media.
Anyone's experience with dual layer media and the XBOX would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't tried any dual layer dvd+r games on mine, but I know mine (samsung drive) won't read a DVD+R DL movie. The head kept hunting back and forth and made weird noises.
