hi, im a little new to this, but ive been around computers and errors for as long as i can remember, the problem is that i had an old 40 gig hdd not being used and i decided to put it in. My friend accidentelly unlocked the original hdd and reformatted it to try and fix it before i got back from shopping. Well, he used my computer, and i didnt think to ftp the backup to my computers hdd, so i dont have the ms dash anymore, the eeprom.bin (i dont know what to do about that), and basically i have 2 formatted xbox hdd that were formatted with xboxhdm 1.9. Im hoping that not all is ruined but i would still be able to use at least one of them on my xbox. I dont really want to install a modchip mainly because i dont want to screw with anything anymore, i want to know how to fix problems before i end up with an effed up xbox entirely. Any help would be appreciated.
-original hdd was unlocked through evox by friend on accident.
-trying to fix problem, he connected hdd to my computer and reformat entirely with xbox hdm.
-(i effed up) didnt make a back-up through FTPing.
-decided to just install a 40 gig and hopefully not have to mod chip it.
any help would be much appreciated, hope to get her running again.

Have you thought about the hotswap method. Say if you have another xbhdm disk that someone used to prepare someone elses drive you could hotswap and prepare that drive with one that is locked. Now I think that you would have to have a locked drive for this. Im not exactly sure, its been awhile. _________________ xbox v1.0

well, thats one of the problems, i dont know anyone that modded their xbox, i used the hotswap to softmod the first one, so ive tried it already with the 40, but there really is no way for me to lock it as the drive doesnt have my old eeprom.bin on it, i dont have it and forgot to upload it, im only hoping that the reformat didnt erase that, is that possible, or is it gone for sure?
