alright. anyone. i have been working on this forever and read many a tutorial and i think there just might be something cursed about my xbox. i have a xenium gold the newest one and we were never able to sucessfully load crack bios or a different dashboard using it.
now i kinda just went away from it and i am trying to soft mod. im using the exact same files my friend did and i have tried other files as well using the provided tutorials.
but everytime i open mechassault to run linux. it just goes to a black screen.
i dont know what is going on. i just am fed up and want this freaking thing modded already. i have devoted idk how many hours instead of doing calculus and nothing works.
suggestions please.

Are you using the high def video connector, or the standard RCA Red,White,Yellow connectors.
If high def, use the RCA and see if that makes a difference.
I did on my 2nd 1.0 I was trying to mod.
One other thought.
Be sure the clock on the Xbox is set BEFORE attemtping your mods, that too would stop the modding process. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

ya idk.
i have teh composite cables but im just using the standard red while and yellow RCA.
and the clock is def set.
but thanks for ur suggestions. got any more? lol

Sounds to me like the linux gamesave is good but the installed sister save may be corrupted. How did you put these onto the xbox? Try deleteing all the gamesaves you do not NEED before loading the hacks. Do not load the hacks from a dashboard gamesave menu. Do not use a gamesave that you did not get from this website. Read above sticky about sabotage. Did you format the memory card you used in an unmodded xbox before tranfering the files?
Try those and post back, I ran into this and many many problems during the last few softmods. Use the knave installer, Easiest and best so far, skip that dual boot crap too. Just install the ms dash fresh from the aid cd after the softmod reinstalls it.

Are you trying to use the action replay memory card when you transfer the file to the xbox? A few weeks back when I first started to mod my 1.6 none of the linux files didn't want to work when I transfered them to my xbox with the AR Memory card, all I got was black screen and once in awhile Error 21. So if you are using the AR memory card I suggest using a Microsoft Memory card, they are pretty cheap now if you don't got one.
