hey everyone im trying to burn a back up of Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance. the file is much too big to fit on a normal DVD-R. i have succesfully burned backups of my other games onto DVD-R's because they are small enough to fit...however this game is bigger than the others and i have no experience burning larger games. i made the iso and burned it to a DVD+R DL (double layer) and the xbox would not load the game like it did with the others. do i have to use a DVD-R DL? and whats the difference? or are there files on the game that i can delete from the iso? let me know
thanks \m/Thor\m/ _________________ If you wanna check out some of my music go to http://www.myspace.com/4evertrying Ill appreiciate your support.

yeah ive been meaning to purchase a bigger one in the first place but i havent gotten the money. i dont think i can fit the entire game on my stock hdd so i guess ill have to go out of town to get a dvd-r dl cause the walmart here only has dvd-r's (like 20-30 different kinds lol) and 2 brands of dvd+r dl's. so i have to go out of town...or maybe theres some place in town i havent checked. which hdd is best? im looking for about 250GB or maybe smaller idk. btw is there a way to hook up a 40GB external hdd to an xbox? its 2.0 usb? that would be sweet!

it will fit on a DVD-r if you remove the unwanted files and make an image then burn to disc.
check this site for shrinking game images

Page can not be displayed. besides that ive looked into that a bit b4 and this game is 6.12GB! how could i take 2GB off without affecting the gameplay. ive seen on one of the sites that i could seperate it into 2 dvd-r's but that would make it unplayable lol so whats the sense in that? i have the same problem with a movie i burned to a dvd+r dl it plays in the computer fine but not in the dvd player is there any way to flash the firmware on a Hitachi GDR-8050L? thats the dvd drive in my xbox. i tried it with my Thompson as well but that one wont load it either, they both just take me to the evox screen and wont load the game within the menu or on boot up. i think i saw somewhere that you can cut one of the yellow cables on the dvd player which is the "media check" wire....is this true? if so which one?
