I just installed the Xecuter 3 CE (soldered) in my v1.0 Xbox because the TSOP got a bad flash.

When I turn on my Xbox, it shuts itself off twice then the front LED blinks red and green and the TV remains black, just like after the TSOP was flashed with a bad BIOS. The X logo on the external swtch is solid red and the HDD light on it is solid blue. The LED on the X3 chip itself is red or green depending on what I set the flash protect switch to.

I've tried various combos of switch settings on the X3 chip and the external switch, but always with the same result.

try booting to the back-up of the 3CE, tap or hold the power and eject at the same time.. if the front of the switch controller goes to red... its not activated, it should be blue when its activated... did you buy this new??

two things... make sure your D0 point is right.. thats what tells the motherboard to check for the new bios in the chip, and make sure there wasn't any solder splashes...

Progress! I resoldered the pin header and D0 wire, and now the X logo on the external switch is solid blue and the Xbox does not FRAG but stays solid green, however, the HD light on the external switch is no longer solid blue, and the TV screen stays black. What next?

A couple extra notes. I noticed when I turn the console on, the HD light on the external switch does light solid blue for a few seconds then goes out. Previously it would stay lit indefinitely. At least the X logo stays lit solid blue though.

Also, if I press the eject button, the Xbox LED blinks green forever and the DVD tray never actually opens.

Do you have it connected between the mobo and the p/e board?

can you try booting to the emergency bios now?

What happens if you hold the white buttom while booting?

to boot to the emergency bios you have have to tap both eject and power at the exact same time...
