Hello,
Thanks in advance for the help. I've been trying for sometime now to softmod my xbox with SID 3.1 but to no avail. Here's a breakdown of what I have; I am using an original copy of MechAssault (Part#:X08-82264), an Action Replay w/8MB card, SID3.1 MechAssault savedgame (Run Linux), AID3.1 on DVD-R and an unmodded XBox MSDash:5960. I have successfully copied the savedgame to the xbox and I can see "Run Linux" in the MA campaign screen. When I press A to "Run Linux" the screen goes black and I see an error with green font (see attached screenshot). The error reads: "21 Service Required. Call Customer Support". The SID menu never loads. Can someone help? Is it the savedgame I'm using? I imported it from the AID3.1 package.

In the softmod menu, restore the m$dash. The exploit files may be corrupt. Action Replay cards are known to cause problems. Try to re-load the gamesaves and delete any other gamesaves that may be on the hdd.

Should I even bother trying other savedgame exploits? I was looking at the UXE and SID4.5 Nknave exploit.

I am very happy to report that this error 21 is resolved, for me anyway. I used a number of savegame exploits in the SID series but nothing worked. After hours of digging I found the exploit WaffleTools UXE for MechAssault. I gave it a shot because it was my last attempt before hotswapping the HDD. It worked like a charm, this softmod not only boots to the exploit but it also installs UnleashX all from the Memory Card, you don't need to use a boot disc at all! It provides a nice clean one-step backup of the eeprom and HDD and the menu is very easy to navigate in.
