Does anyone know if there is a program to change .exe into .xbe, that would help me out alot!!! _________________

Well, I want to make it so that I can turn certain programs from an .exe file into a .xbe file so it can run on my xbox.
reasons:
1.I want to be able to run RPG maker 2003 on my xbox
2.I want to play select computer games on my xbox
3. other reasons... _________________

well the old pc games you can get for the xbox are ported to the xbox, any new games will not run on a xbox, and to run programs you will have to have DSL on the xbox, and by no means will the newer apps will run fast as the xbox is only a 733mhz processor with 64mb of ram. _________________

wait, even if i did, i thought .exe files wont work on an xbox...only .xbe! _________________

the exes will work so long as you have linux on your xbox like DSL. But not everything will run, as the xbox is limited, So basically any program that has high system requirements, dont expect them to run. and order for the apps to be changed from exe to xbe you have to port them to xbox for one and you also have to know how to code for xbox. _________________

Your friend is dead wrong. Running linux will definitely NOT hurt he xbox unless you do something stupid within it, like delete system files.
If your hoping to play native windows games though your going to run into problems. Windows apps will not run on linux without some AID of another linux service: wine. You then have to consider the amount of memory that the game will take. Linux and wine is not a huge tax on the system, but your not going to be able to play something like WoW _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

...so your saying that running mini-linux will not harm the xbox in any way? What will it do, i mean i opened it one time and the screen went black and text starting appearing as though it was trying to boot up like an old computer, so i shut it off... but yeah, what will it do? and what if something does go wrong with the xbox? what am i to do? _________________

If you dont feel comfortable then back up your eeprom and c and e drive, but that depends on the mod that was used too. _________________

now i definetly don't want to run mini-linux, i started to yesterday, and then it went from the normal black screen with white text to a twisted green screen, looked really bad, so i immediatly shut off my xbox. _________________

Linux is an operating system. The reason it looked like it was booting like an old computer: thats exactly what its doing. Windows does the same thing, it just doesn't show the text. Give it some time and you should see something like a windows desktop, but it will use different icons, etc
