I am about to update my old version of XBMC with v.2 using the AID installer.
1. What do I need to copy to a safe location so that once the old version is overwritten by the new I can reinstate so that my bookmarks all point to the same places/laptop is still networked etc?
2. Is there any way that I can get XBMC to show a particular location on start up? 99% of my Xbox use is XBMC and the majority of the time I am watching video stored on an external hard drive. Currently I have to open XBMC goto My Videos, browse to the laptop server and then open up the My videos file stored on the hard drive. I would like to open XBMC and see this location and all the files within it.
I have read through the manual but I still don't know what to do.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers

What I did was download both of the T3CH builds (FAT and SLIM-FIX). First I FTP'd over T3CH to E:\Apps\XBMC2, then FTP'd over SLIM RIGHT OVER IT. SLim is an update/patch fix, and allows all the features to be accessed. For your settings, almost everything is stored in the "UserData" folder, not to be confused with E:\UDATA.
So, to backup your settings, navigate to E:\Apps\XBMC\UserData (or perhaps E:\Apps\XBMC\System\UserData) and copy the files there to the corresponding directory in the new install. (Note, i did all of this from UnleashX without rebooting between steps).
Once everything you want to save is copied, then go ahead and delete the E:\Apps\XBMC folder, and rename XBMC2 to XBMC1. Then, using UnleashX's gamesave manager, delete the XBMC gamesave, and reboot your xbox. You're done.
Alternatively, you could just use AID 3.1 to install XBMC 2.0 after backing up your user data folder, then once the install is complete, delete the gamesave and FTP over your USerData folder. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
