Hi folks,
Having updated xbmc within the last week,I've now noticed that a few of my .mkv's with idx/subs included, either don't show the subs at all,or they're always onscreen, with each text not disappearing until the next one comes along & replaces it,right through the whole film, whereas others are just fine.
These .mkv's obviously don't play on my standalone DVD player, but there's no problem whatsoever when playing them on the 'puter, where the subs show just fine in MPC or Zoom player.
XBMC settings are the same as in my previous version, where this didn't occur,so I was wondering if there's a known workaround.
Brilliant site BTW,wish I'd found it earlier.

Thanks for the rapid response hellblazer.
Yes,I've only ever used official builds, and my lad would be less than pleased,to put it mildly, if I tried a 'pimp rig' & totalled his m/c.
I used AID v3.04 downloaded from one of the xbox NG's the other day.
I've also just noticed that all the 'alternative' skins for xbmc are apparently there,on F: drive, but I can only use the default skin(5/9 Project Mayhem III),as the others are listed, but greyed out in my xbmc look & feel/skin options.
I'm thinking maybe I should uninstall xbmc completely from F: partition, where it's always lived, and re-install on E:...or even C:,as F:'s where all the game saves are.
Also,I'm assuming it'll disappear from Q: partition too if I do that,as that's apparently some sort of cache or mirror file which on this m/c is always listed as exactly the same size as F: drive, and useage decreases or increases depending on game saves, applications installed etc.
Executer 2 on this m/c apparently,if that's relevant.

Well, after battling with this thing unsuccessfully for a few hours today, decompiling & recompiling/burning AID dvd's I was very relieved when my lad came home from school & said,in his usual practical & realistic way "Dad,it really doesn't matter,I only ever see the interface for 15 or 20 seconds anyway,it could be ginger pink with yellow spots for all I care...it's just a way of watching films & listening to music on the xbox"
I can't argue with his logic,so I'll now spend my time looking for something more useful to do with my time out here in the 'real' world....hehehe _________________ xbox1.1 with Executer2....I think
