You will need the xdk(sorry, can't discuss how to get it) and an xbox flashed with a debug bios to start. If you have downloaded AID check the PDF file that comes with it, it has instructions on how to set up your box. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Softmod won't work, I recommend a tsop unless you have a 1.6 _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Chip is the easiest way. Wish a softmod all you can do is take pics. Plus, you will need Visual Studios .Net 2003 at least. '05 is recommended. _________________ Moddingbandit
I do softmods and solderless chips only. Just Pm me for details.

If all you're lookin for is a debug box, the TSOP is the way to go, it's cheap, quick, and painless. You just solder the TSOPs, flash with AID, and then go to town. but, if you still want to have your modding fun, get a chip with two or more bioses (X2, XChip, SmartXXX, Xenium) and flash with hacked bios, and on the other bank flash with debug. Then you can start your debugging fun. But, like I said, you wanna save money? stick with the TSOP. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

It won't work to create homebrew software because you need a debug bios to talk back and forth from the PC.
