Well, it seems as though ive jumped outta the frying pan and into the fire. If anyone read my old post, they would know how i screwed up changing my box to a pal. Now that i have that sorted somthin funny happned. I have a Xecuter 2.3 lite installed.I have the EvoX dash 3935 dash installed and any apps that were on the 1.3 auto installer ftom HQ boys here. I guess I could list the problems.
1.) In EvoX, where it lists bios, kernel etcc.. The Bios states Unknown
I have 1.00.5101.01 kernel of that matters
2.)When I boot up with oput without the chip on, it doesnt say Xecuter under the logo like it did beofre i f'ed up. It says Microsoft all the time
3.) After that incident, when i load the Xbox with the chip off, it takes me to a screen saying in 7 languages to get me box serviced (even though with executer it works fine)
4.) Finally becuase of this, I cant set my clock and my box thinks its Jan 1st 2002. Can I at least change that in the Evo????
Any help with any one of my 4 screw ups would be greatly appreciated..... _________________ Xecuter 2.3 LIte

OK...
1) If EvoX is working, that's the main thing you should be concerned with. EvoX doesn't show my BIOS either (and this is only because the MD5 signature isn't in the evox.ini file). It's nothing to be concerned about.
2) Hm, not real sure about this one... But I do know where it has Microsoft written is only an image on the C drive somewhere. More than likely my auto-installer overwrote it, but again it shouldn't cause problems.
3) OK, maybe your HDD isn't locked. Check in the system settings on your EvoX Dashboard to verify this, it'll say something like "Secutiry Lock" just above the stats on your Drives.
4) If you network your PC to your Xbox it will set up the time for you on EvoX. Unfortunately unlike the PS2 (the bastards) the Xbox doesn't have a battery built in it to remember the time etc, so unless you always have your Xbox hooked to your PC you'll never keep the correct time all the time.

well, today I am going to install a 120gig drive that already has Evox setup and a whole bunch of roms and apps. What id like to know is, will this drive that was not screwed up like mine fix any of these problems since everything was done right? _________________ Xecuter 2.3 LIte

When you boot up with the chip off, It should say Microsoft. Because if you boot up with chip off, then your hacked bios isn't loading thus it loads the MS Bios, hence the Microsoft insignia under the X.

There is an issue with your MS Dashboard file. Did you reinstall the MS Dashboard via the autoinstaller? I bet you are getting error code 13, or 21. Please let us know what error code you are receiving. Please remember this. When your modchip is on and you boot your xbox you are loading the BIOS that is on your modchip. Your modchip bios doesn't care what it looks at, it will show all fine. That is why you can navigate to your MS Dash with no issues as long as your chip is on. When you turn your chip off, your MS Bios is going to load and the MS Dash files have to be very specific or you get the errors. Also, make sure you set your time otherwise, you can get errors for that too.. Sounds like you are good there now, just for future reference.

Well, maybe you aren't good there. That's may be your error code. Turn on your xbox with your chip ON. When EvoX loads up scroll to where you see, Launch MS Dashboard. Press A. Once the MS Dash comes up just go to settings, clock and set date and time. Then see if number three is resolved.
Take a little time and spend it on some newbie tutorials. You really need to get a basic understanding on how this puppy works. If you get some basic knowledge under your belt, you would answered your own questions. It's a pretty simple process. Check out some older posts too..you can always find info that way also. You actually almost answered your own question. In one breath you're saying that the MS Dash doesnt work and you cant set your time, but in the next you are saying that it works fine with the Xecuter Chip on..well, if it's working fine, then why not go set the clock??
I know sometimes it takes me a while to get back to people, but I have been a little busy chipping machines the last few weeks. That's why if you get a better understanding by reading up then you will be able to fix the little bugs that always rear their ugly heads.

I dont know how, but i fixed all but one of these problems just after posting. I re-installed the MS dash thinking it might have been corrupted. Luckily, after doing that, the error went awat and the ms dash loaded and i was able to set the clock as well. Of all the things, the only thing that doesnt was the loadup where it should say Xecuter instead of MS. But i guess if everything works fine and the Evo isnt acting up, i guess everything is good. THanks for the help guys.

When you turn your machine on with the Modchip OFF...YOU WILL NOT SEE Xecuter under the X.
When you turn your machine on with the Modchip On...YOU WILL SEE Xecuter under the X.
When chip is on, hacked bios loads
When chip is off, MS bios loads.
I don't know any other way to explain that one. It sounds to me that everything is running perfect now.

thats the thing, when i turn it on with the chip on, i still get the microsoft logo under the X??? I dunno, this weekend im goin to get some games and see of everything else is working. If not i guess this will be a hacked Microsoft box and not an Xecuter? _________________ Xecuter 2.3 LIte

So, even when it says Microsoft under the X you still get the Evolution X dashboard??
That is strange man!! That goes against everything I learned about xbox hacking...HA.

I had noticed the same thing when I loaded EvoX M7 BIOS into my modchip to try to get Steel Battalion controller to work. With the chip on, it still said "Microsoft" under the X. I thought "cool! it's not announcing to the world that it's hacked right from the start". I switched back to 4981.07 later because I couldn't get it to recognize the F partition. Now, "Xecuter" is back. Something in the BIOS? I don't really care as long as it works! _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room
