I am currently replacing my standard "delta-brand" fan from my v1.6b XBOX with a 80mm silent-fan.

The orignal fan sucks-out the air from the xbox. Isn't it better to force air into the xbox for better cooling?

i would say its better to pull the hot air out away from the xbox, make sure you use the cable that came with the fan and connect the fan to that. I installed the cable and it lowered the temp by 6 degrees. It raises the fan voltage to 12 volts

It realy doesn't matter the brand (as long as it's durable). But try to run something over 10000RPM's. I have three case fans in my computer all running 15-18000 rpms, and my computer used to run hot as hell. My standard case fan in my xbox still keeps my box at it's standard and quite cool for not being upgraded 120 degrees F. Which really isn't bad considering it's not exactly in a well ventellated place.

As far as which way it blows; If you only have one fan in your box (some people like more than one.. I know i'd like more, lol) pulling away is always the best. But if you have two, do a cross blow, one in, and one out, and you'll see very very, almost room temp temperatures.
